People think that they have to pay a lot of money to get proper pedicure services but actually they can give it a try their self from time to time. You can take care of your feet by keeping them healthy and beautiful. If you are looking to soften your hardened feet or just looking to pamper them, pedicure is the perfect solution.
You just need a little bit of guidance and the right tools and you will be able to give yourself a perfect treatment. Read on to read some useful tips on how to do a pedicure at home.
1. Pick up your supplies
You need some toe-tempering supplies before you begin anything such as a tub of warm water for soaking, an acetone remover, nail clippers, a nail buffer, a nail file, a nail paint of your choice and pumice stone.
2. Remove old nail polish
With the help of acetone remover, get rid of your old nail color. This is usually the first step to giving yourself the perfect pedicure
3. Soak your feet
Soak your feet for about ten minutes in a tub of hot water. The water would soften tough calluses and remove dirt from your feet that might have built up. It also helps to soften your toe nails and cuticles which is important when you are painting your toe nails.
4. Cut and file your nails
Cut your toe nails down to a perfect size, using a pair of nail clippers, just short enough to see a bit of white at the tips. After cutting the nails, use a buffing pad to file down the rough edges and ridges on the top nails.
5. Clean up your skin
Through the pumice stone, scrub down the calluses on the heel and ball of your foot. Take a scrubbing brush and scrub your entire foot, once you are done with the stone. You can also use a bit of soap when brushing between your toes and all over the bridge of your foot. Rinse off your feet with a bit of warm water after you are done with all the scrubbing.
6. Prepare for polish
Dry your feet with a towel and massage a layer of lotion on your skin and wait for about 5 minutes to let them dry completely.
7. Apply any suitable color
Choose the perfect nail color and paint your toe nails. Don’t stain your skin while applying the color.
